RAC Ashford Ltd. is looking for:
A Senior Engineer ICT AOS and MSI – SAS
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE
1 Mission
To produce designs, specifications and documents. Participates in design review, supervise the implementation, testing and commissioning of ICT/SAS related hardware and software systems inclusive of - computer, network systems and equipment plus multi-functional systems and services.
2 Line and Staff Relations
The Sr. Engineer ICT-SAS will report to the ICT Design Manager for line management support.
The Engineer will take directions from an appointed Senior / Lead Engineer ICT-SAS when assigned to projects.
• THE CLIENT staff:
o Escalate issues, keep informed, advise and receive instructions
o Work collaboratively to achieve the team’s business and project outcomes
o Participate in meetings to develop work group perspectives and share information
• External :
o Understand issues and provide solutions in line with project scope definitions
o Coordinate with the Client and other Consultant engineers, including 3rd Party reviewers, at any stage of the project,
3 Key Responsiblities
Design Projects
• Lead the understand of the requirements of a AOS and MSI project, gather the data and specify the project design deliverables to be produced.
• Designing solutions and lead that adhere to applicable regulations and technical standards, using and supporting the methods and procedures provided by the organisation in the execution of its business.
• Produce Concept, Preliminary and Detailed designs, assessments and studies, specifications and documents for ICT/SAS systems. In accordance with the engineers specialisation, capability, training and experiences.
• Prepare work for, monitor and advise draughting resources assigned to the project
• Use the approved document submittal and review and control process for all documentation.
• Review designs to validate expected performances meet the project & contractual requirements.
• Contribute to the preparation & production of tender documentation.
• Contribute to and prepare budget estimates.
• Assist with the preparation and production of commercial offers
• Provide managers and team leaders with progress reports as required.
• Own and expedite resolutions to technical issues between the designer and the stakeholders
• Contribute to the "Lessons Learned" process to improve business performance.
• Contribute to the future development of the business by suggestions for "Innovation"
Supervision Projects
• Review contractor designs and documents to validate expected performances meet the project & contractual requirements and design Specifications
• Use the approved document submittal and review and control process for all documentation.
• Coordinate the design and site works with other trades working on the project, such as architectural, MEP and structural departments. Etc..
• Supervise and assess Sub-consultants’ design and construction progress and compliance with their contractual obligations.
• Participate in project design and construction coordination meetings.
• Attend client meetings as part of design team representing The client as required.
• Supervise inspectors and perform site inspections of works and witnessing of site testing and commissioning.
• Ensure the handover of the project is done in compliance with the requirements of the contract .
• Supervise the quality of work at every stage of the project and have the capacity to work under a Design and Build (D&B) environment.
• Apply the project change control process to manage variation to scope of works.
• Verify the accuracy of the contractor’s “As-Built” documents reflecting in detail the as-built conditions and approve the As-Built documents.
• Ensure all works are performed on time, to quality and cost requirements, minimising operational and project risks
Specialization in Airport Operation Systems (AOS) and Master Systems Integration (MSI)
• Design and specify all systems interfaces including software and Hardware within an Airport environment for the following Systems : AODB, IIB, CUSS, CUTE, CUPPS, FIDS, DCS, e-boarding gates, Queue Management Systems.
• To ensure integration of the AOS Systems into with the building services and life safety system as well as Integrated Aircraft stand system, VDGS, BHS and the ICT data network.
• Good technical analysis methodology and System Requirement Management to enable systems Interfaces within all airport ICT infrastructures, such as but not limited to: BMS, SACS, CCTV, PAS, IASS, GOS/VDGS, HVTS, PMU, ECBS, BHS etc…
Profile
• • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Communications Engineering or equivalent
• 12 years of post-graduate experience with a minimum of 6 years in AOS airport systems industry.
• Following digital transformations and generating strategies of future airports to incorporate all innovative trends in technologies.
• Have good knowledge of Virtual Server Environments such as VMware as well as Virtual SAN Storage systems.
• Knowledge of the following regulations:
